DPV Upgrade - Wellpark Brewery Glasgow

Contract Value £350k.

Design, supply and installation - Electrical Installation and Control Panels.

From a "hard wired" convention proposal document IC Electrical proposed an ASi based system for Gas valve blocks and a Flex I/O System (locally Installed) for all other valve blocks, valves and instruments. Using Allen Bradley drives the VSD were controlled via Control-net.

As a further innovation ICE also proposed the use of a Fibre-optic link to an existing Hub located some 150m from main control suite, this enabled the site greater flexibility from the site's SCADA interface.

The innovative cost savings presented were estimated at circa £50k.

The Project was completed ahead of time and the Brewery were able to store Beer in vessels only 12 weeks after commencement of the Electrical Installation.

CDM was controlled by Lorien PLC, all site activity was risk assessed and co-ordinated with Lorien ,there were no reportable incidents despite the fact that 16 new vessels were craned into place during the 12 week installation time.
